Sometimes I wonder why I don't seek out more beautiful, handmade, local delicacies....such as ANYTHING by Alexandra Cassaniti, an LA based designer and BEST friend of mine. I already have two tote bags, an endless possibilities bag, swimsuit and tank. All of which I LOVE. But I still need this "Neo Purse" and numerous other items sold on her website. I am crossing this off the list this month, and other treasures await me soon! Magical.

Thursday Travels

Travels, near and far, are necessary to keep creative juices flowing. Inspirational places and new perspectives help me feel like I'm still part of a larger world.

West Monroe, Louisiana was the destination of this trip and the adorable bed and breakfast, Hamilton House, was our home for one night. This tiny town is home to numerous antique stores and other small, charming boutiques and local businesses.

 A favorite boutique, Brooklyn Co., stocks must-have closet staples along with unique, handmade jewelry designed by the two local owners. When we enter, they curiously peek through two large curtains separating the whimsically decorated store in the front of the space from the workshop in the back. These two hip gals are warm, inviting, and to my dismay have not unpacked the new, Fall merchandise they just returned from buying. I guess I have another good reason to make West Monroe a future destination!

Wish List

a perfect, white blouse

A wish list is necessary to keep my priorities straight; especially since I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by beautiful things on a regular basis. The list is written in my notebook, on tiny scrap of paper, or post-it. It's edited, revised, folded and put in my pocket, re-written, or stowed in my wallet. When the time is right and stars align, I can indulge, cross something off the list and live happily ever after! Currently sitting at the top of my list is...the perfect, white blouse. Love.
