Thursday Travels

Jasper, Arkansas

Traveling for cycling is a must when you live in a flat city, and your husband is an avid cyclist (masochist). At least we get to go places with pretty views. Here is the "Grand Canyon" of Arkansas...I don't know how it compares to the real thing, but maybe one day (Thursday) I will!

Sunday Brunch

The Big Apple.

With everything I've been reading about NYC fashion week (so sad it's over), my heart longs for another trip there with my sweet, pretty friends and family. Shopping, eating, more shopping, walking, drinking, shopping, eating. Some sleeping. Here's a glimpse of my last visit...and my favorite part of big-city living...

Thursday Travels

A Southern delicacy and one of my personal favorite junk-food staples is...fried catfish. Y U M. I had it catered at my wedding (along with fried chicken), and have become quite the fried food connoisseur...although I reserve the right to indulge for special occasions, a mid-week trip to Taylor, Mississippi's famous Taylor Grocery is a welcome departure from my normal dining routine.

I mean....I'm not really sure what to say; can't you tell this place is AMAZING?!

Thursday Travels

Travels, near and far, are necessary to keep creative juices flowing. Inspirational places and new perspectives help me feel like I'm still part of a larger world.

West Monroe, Louisiana was the destination of this trip and the adorable bed and breakfast, Hamilton House, was our home for one night. This tiny town is home to numerous antique stores and other small, charming boutiques and local businesses.

Brooklyn, Co. Boutique

A favorite boutique, Brooklyn Co., stocks must-have closet staples along with unique, handmade jewelry designed by the two local owners. When we enter, they curiously peek through two large curtains separating the whimsically decorated store in the front of the space from the workshop in the back. These two hip gals are warm, inviting, and to my dismay have not unpacked the new, Fall merchandise they just returned from buying. I guess I have another good reason to make West Monroe a future destination!
